Frenkie de Jong’s future at Barcelona is up in the air as he enters the final year of his contract. With several European clubs interested, one Premier League team has reportedly made him a priority target.

Last October, SPORT reported that Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain were all monitoring De Jong’s situation closely.

Despite his desire to stay at Barcelona, PSG’s track record of signing players from the club makes them a strong contender. Meanwhile, Barcelona appear open to selling, with Mundo Deportivo noting that financial concerns have pushed a contract renewal down the priority list.

Recently, CaughtOffside reported that Liverpool have discussed their summer transfer plans, with De Jong among the players under consideration. However, his wages could be a major obstacle.

Barcelona are reportedly willing to sell De Jong for around €35 million, but Liverpool and other potential suitors remain concerned about his high salary at the Nou Camp.

Fichajes reports that top Premier League clubs are once again targeting him. Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly ready to make a big push to sign him this summer.

Both teams are seeking a midfielder with his qualities and believe paying between €65 and €70 million is a price Barcelona would accept if they decide to sell.

The Catalan club, however, aren’t ready to let go of one of its biggest stars. While England is interested, Barcelona has already started talks with De Jong’s camp to work out a renewal. Flick’s stance is clear: he wants to keep him as part of his plans.
