But Bees determined to keep hold of star attacking duo
The Bees are determined to keep hold of their star attacking duo but expect there to be transfer interest in both players once the season is over.
Mbeumo and Wissa have both been tracked by top clubs across Europe following their impressive performances over the last few years.
Of the 52 goals scored by 11th-place Brentford in the Premier League this season, Mbeumo and Wissa have scored 31 between them. Mbeumo’s 16 and Wissa’s 15 Premier League goals make this the most prolific season both players have had in the top-flight.

Nottingham Forest had an exploratory bid of £22million for Wissa knocked back in January, while Tottenham were also credited with an interest in the DR Congo international before they signed Mathys Tel on loan from Bayern Munich on deadline day.
Mbeumo has been linked with Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle, but Brentford are understood to have never received a formal bid for the Cameroon star.
However, Standard Sport understands Brentford are resigned to the likelihood of interest in both players resurfacing this summer, and the club are succession-planning as normal, in case a high enough offer prompts them to sell either asset.
The likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool, as well as a host of major clubs on the continent, will be in the market for attackers this summer.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank has insisted publicly on multiple occasions that Mbeumo and Wissa are not for sale, as well as lauding them for stepping up their goalscoring output since England striker Ivan Toney was sold Saudi Arabia for around £40million last summer.
Frank was asked in January how much a club would have to pay to convince Brentford to sell 25-year-old Mbeumo.
“It would be [so] big a fee that I can't imagine the size,” Frank said at that time. “I'm not even focusing on keeping my best players. I'm just expecting them to stay.”
At the end of the season, both Wissa and Mbeumo will have just one year left on their contracts at Brentford.
The Bees have the option of extending both players' deals by a further year and would strengthen their bargaining position in any potential transfer negotiations by tying them down until June 2027.
Mbeumo signed for Brentford from French side Troyes in 2019, while Wissa joined from Lorient two years later. The pair cost the Bees a combined total of just £14.3m in transfer fees.
Wissa scored a late equaliser on Saturday to earn Brentford a 1-1 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates.
