Bristol Rovers and Crawley Town have both been relegated from League One after Burton Albion’s 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic sealed their drop.
At the Pirelli Stadium, Rumarn Burrell gave Wigan the lead, but Ronan Darcy hit back for Burton. The draw was just enough to keep the Brewers out of reach, leaving Rovers and Crawley four points adrift heading into the final weekend.
The Brewers were more or less safe before the match thanks to goal difference, but the result made survival mathematically certain—and confirmed relegation for the two chasing sides.
Crawley, who had come up via the play-offs last season and started this campaign brightly with two early wins, saw their season unravel after manager Scott Lindsey left for MK Dons.
Although he returned later and sparked a bit of a revival, it was too little, too late.
Rovers, under Inigo Calderon, looked to be steering clear of danger at one point. But a dreadful run since mid-March—just one point from nine matches—saw their form collapse completely.
