Line-up and formation: Head coach Ole Werner named an unchanged starting line-up following last weekend's 3-0 win in Kiel. Milos Veljkovic (muscular) was the only player unavailable for selection, as Anthony Jung was fit enough to make the bench.

Starting line-up: Zetterer - Stark, Pieper, Stage, Ducksch, Weiser, Lynen, Burke, Schmid, Agu, Friedl.

Subs: Backhaus - Jung, Silva, Bittencourt, Njinmah, Grüll, Köhn, Malatini, Topp.

First-half highlights:

20th minute: Frankfurt attack via the left-hand side, as Ekitiké aims a shot at the far post. His effort sails just wide and goes out for a corner. While trying to get the ball away from danger, Pieper instead puts the ball into the six-yard box, where Werder have to scramble to clear their lines.

25th minute: Frankfurt are able to clear the ball as far as the edge of the box, where Schmid is waiting. The midfielder takes aim, but his shot is deflected onto the crossbar by Stage.

28th minute: Werder lead! Schmid's corner is met perfectly at the back post by Burke, who is able to head in unmarked to put the Green-Whites in front.

Second-half highlights:

47th minute: Ducksch comes within inches of making it 2-0! Brown's backpass is easily picked off by our number 7, as he looks to chip it over Santos. His effort goes just wide of the right post.

57th minute: Ducksch and Burke link up to get the ball into the penalty box, but Theate is able to get in the way and block the shot.

79th minute: Weiser does well to control a cross from Agu, but his shot goes just over the bar.

84th minute: 2-0 for Werder! Njinmah is able to work the ball over to Schmid, with the midfielder curling home a well-struck effort in at the far post.

90th minute +6: Full time! SV Werder celebrate their first home win since the end of January. Next up, the Green-Whites will travel to face VfB Stuttgart on Sunday, 13th April.

Summary: Although the Green-Whites were able to get off to a better start, Eintracht Frankfurt then managed to exert their control over the match. During this phase of the game was when Burke was able to head the hosts in front, giving them a lead to defend. The Eagles were unable to make the most of their possession, while SVW continued to look dangerous in front of goal. Schmid then put the game to bed with a curling effort in the closing minutes, wrapping up a deserved home win.
