AC Milan have always had a heap of good players, and despite their current struggles, this much remains true with a Serie A midfielder admitting he idolises Tijjani Reijnders.
In the past season, there has been no player as consistently brilliant as Reijnders has been. The Dutchman has elevated his own game since last season, and as a result, the team now play better. However, Milan are not the only benefactors.
As we saw in midweek, the midfielder is also having a more positive impact on his national team, scoring a beautiful goal against Spain – an attribute which he has vastly improved on in recent months.
Adding goals to his game has made him a very complete player, as expected, and this has meant that several of the best European clubs have taken an interest. Milan will not take notice though, considering he extended his contract recently until 2030.
Today, speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Como midfielder Lucas Da Cunha admitted the Dutchman was one of his favourite players and Milan News relayed his sentiments.
“I believe in ball recovery. At the moment my goal is in this direction. The midfielders I like the most? Reijnders and Barella in Serie A. And, abroad, Valverde of Real. He can do everything: he’s fast, he has grit, he scores.”
