Everton make the shortest away trip in the Premier League this evening when the Blues face Liverpool in the Merseyside Derby.
Everton are out to dent their rival’s title challenge and maintain momentum under David Moyes. The Toffees are unbeaten in nine Premier League games with Moyes having ensured the side are tough to beat in his second spell.
However, Everton and Moyes have a poor record at Anfield. Everton have won at Liverpool in front of fans since 1999, with their sole success since coming in a behind-closed-doors clash. Moyes, meanwhile, has never won at Anfield as a manager.
Liverpool lead the title race from Arsenal by nine points, but come into the clash with a point to prove. Before the international break, Liverpool exited the Champions League to PSG on penalties and lost the Carabao Cup final to Newcastle.
The visitors remain light in attacking areas with Armando Broja and Dominic Calvert-Lewin still sidelined. There’s better news on Iliman Ndiaye and Dwight McNeil, who have resumed full training. Ndiaye has not featured since suffering a knee injury in the reverse fixture in February. However, neither are expected to feature, from the start at least, tonight.
Vitalii Mykolenko shoud be passed fit despite sustaining a thigh injury on international duty with Ukraine.
Everton predicted XI: Pickford; O’Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Garner, Gueye, Doucoure; Harrison, Alcaraz, Beto.
Liverpool host Everton in the Premier League on Wednesday 2nd April 2025. Kick-off at Anfield is 20:00 BST.
The Merseyside derby will be available to watch on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Go.
