Matteo Darmian feels that “winning helps you win” ahead of this evening’s Serie A clash between Bologna and Inter Milan.

The 35-year-old spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, ahead of the match. He stressed the importance of building on the momentum from Wednesday’s match against Bayern Munich.

Inter Milan take on Bologna this evening.

The Serie A clash at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara promises to be a thrilling affair. It will be a huge match for Inter in the title race with Napoli, and for Bologna’s efforts to qualify for the Champions League.

But for Inter, this evening’s match comes just days after an exhausting Champions League quarterfinal second leg against Bayern Munich.

Despite that, Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi has largely stuck with the same lineup.

The Inter coach has made just two changes. And one of these – Joaquin Correa starting – is due to an injury to Marcus Thuram.

Inter Milan wingback Matteo Darmian played ninety minutes against Bayern Munich in midweek.

However, the 35-year-old is straight back into the starting eleven this evening against Bologna.

But Darmian insists that “we’re doing well.”

“Winning helps you win,” he added.

Darmian made clear that “we know how difficult this match will be.”

“But we’ll have to be the best version of Inter to take home the win against a Bologna side who are in very good form.”

Meanwhile, Matteo Darmian also gave his thoughts on having to mark Bologna winger Dan Ndoye.

“He’s a top-level opponent,” the former Manchester United and Parma veteran said. “He has quality.”

“We’ll have to defend well as a team,” Darmian added. “It’s not just Ndoye we have to keep an eye on, but Bologna as a whole.”
