Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has spoken out on Chelsea’s reported interest in Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers this week.

The news comes off the back of Chelsea getting an essential three points on Saturday afternoon by beating Everton 1-0 at home after a fantastic first half goal from striker Nicolas Jackson ending his 2025 goal draught.

It was far from an easy game for Chelsea though, and goalkeeper Robert Sanchez became the unlikely hero and was actually the reason that they could see the win out and collect all three points, making some big second half saves to deny certain goals.

Another one of Chelsea’s best players on the pitch was defender Trevoh Chalobah and really, he was a strong candidate for man of the match too. Enzo Maresca defended Chelsea’s decision to let him go on loan in the summer after then recalling him in the winter.

News came out earlier this week that Chelsea were keen on signing Villa’s Morgan Rogers, and Romano has now put out what he knows about this.

Chelsea keen on Rogers

Romano writes on GIVEMESPORT:

‘Chelsea are surely looking for a new winger to bring in soon and Rogers is one of the players they appreciate, perfect in terms of age and skills. He’s considered similar to Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Bynoe-Gittens who’s high on the list along with dream target Nico Williams, but the price tag could be an issue for Rogers.’

But Romano also confirms other sides like Liverpool are keen too:

‘Liverpool have also sent their scouts several times to follow Rogers’ progress at Villa, considering him as an ideal player for the future. But both Chelsea and Liverpool consider the deal as ‘difficult’ for this summer as Aston Villa have no plans to let Rogers – described as “exceptional” by Pep Guardiola – leave.’
