Having made his way to the FC Barcelona first team last season, the midfielder Fermin Lopez continues to enjoy an important role in the Blaugrana squad, even after the change in management from Xavi Hernandez to Hansi Flick.
Although he is not a regular starter, the young midfielder has still been important for the German coach, and is gradually becoming a beloved player for the fans.
As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the La Masia graduate recently appeared in an interview and talked about some of his memorable moments at Barcelona.
When asked to identify his best goal in a Blaugrana shirt, the youngster was quite clear about his choice as he said:
“The best goal of my career is the one I scored against Real Madrid in Dallas, and it was also the match I enjoyed the most.”
After naming Xavi and Iniesta as his childhood idols, the midfielder went on to explain why he loves playing for Barcelona:
“Playing for Barça has been my dream since I was a child. I’m at the best club in the world.”
Fermin also shared his feelings about the upcoming UEFA Champions League semi-final against Inter Milan:
“The truth is we’re really excited and looking forward to the semifinals, although it’s going to be a very tough match.”
The youngster revealed that his “uncle and grandfather” pushed him into football, and also revealed his best memory from his La Masia days: “The day we witnessed the comeback against PSG live.”
This was an interesting interview from the midfielder, who is already becoming a favourite player of the fans. With the current state of the Barcelona midfield, he is quite unlikely to get a regular starting spot soon.
Still, hopefully, he will continue showcasing his talents whenever he gets the opportunity to force Flick to consider enhancing his status in the team soon.
