On Saturday night, Hansi Flick will lead Barcelona into their second final of the 2024/25 season as they take on Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey.
Flick’s first final with the Blaugrana came in January 2025, in the Spanish Super Cup, where his side defeated Real Madrid 5-2 in Jeddah.
Overall, it will be the seventh final of the German tactician’s career and his track record in such matches should fill Barça fans with great confidence.
Indeed, as Flick leads Barçelona into his seventh career final, he has achieved something very few coaches can claim – he has won every final he has taken charge of as a head coach.
The 60-year-old manager’s winning streak in finals began in 2020 with Bayern Munich. In the DFB Pokal final, the Bavarians beat Bayer Leverkusen 4-2 at Berlin’s Olympic Stadium.
That same year, in August, Flick led Bayern to the UEFA Champions League title at Estadio da Luz in Lisbon as the German giants triumphed 1-0 over Paris Saint-Germain.

A month later, Flick triumphed in his third final, this time in the UEFA Super Cup as Bayern Munich came from behind to defeat Sevilla 2-1 in extra time at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.
Days later, the current Barcelona manager masterminded a 3-2 win over Borussia Dortmund to help Bayern win the DFL Supercup – making it four wins in four finals.
The fifth came at the FIFA Club World Cup in February 2021 in Saudi Arabia, where Bayern edged Tigres 1-0.
Finally, Flick’s sixth final win came earlier this year in the Spanish Super Cup finale vs Real Madrid as mentioned above.
Even though the 5-2 scoreline might suggest otherwise, it was far from a straightforward win for Barcelona as they were down to ten men from the 56th minute after Wojciech Szczesny was sent off.
With six wins from six finals, Flick has proven himself to be a master of decisive matches, a manager who delivers when it matters most. And Barcelona fans will hope that on Saturday the record becomes seven in seven.
