Kyle Walker arrived in January, and it seems that regardless of the direction of the club in the summer, his loan move will be made permanent.
The Englishman, for a long time, was one of the best defenders in the world, a physical machine capable of stopping attackers in wide areas or centrally. As a result of this, his position within the Manchester City team was solidified for years.
Through this time, Walker was captain and led his side to multiple Premier League titles as well as a historic Champions League.
His move to Milan in January was the start of an attempt to get the Rossoneri back to their best. A player who understands what it takes to mean on the pitch, whilst reinforcing the values in the dressing room and at the training ground too.
Because of this, reports have already suggested that he will be pivotal for any incoming head coach in the summer, with Massimiliano Allegri and Antonio Conte the two names put forward. However, his importance would stretch past this duo.
In fact, Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News) state that the €5 million option will almost definitely be taken in the summer, and he will become a permanent player.
There will be a room on the pitch for Walker, of course, however, there will also be a focus on his leadership skills, where his status, career and charisma make him one of few leaders in the dressing room.
For this reason, his ‘fate’ is already written, he will remain until June of 2027.
