Hansi Flick hails Barcelona star: ‘He’s training at a much higher level’ | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has on Friday moved to reveal his appreciation for the recent efforts of Ansu Fati.

The name of wide-man Ansu of course took its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital earlier this week.

As much came after the 22-year-old was at last afforded his first competitive appearance since all the way back in January.

En route to Barcelona’s 4-0 Champions League drubbing of Borussia Dortmund, Ansu was introduced off the bench for Lamine Yamal late on.

The Spaniard’s return was met with a chorus of cheers and applause on the part of the home crowd in attendance at Montjuïc, delighted to see a player once considered one of world football’s standout young talents back on the pitch.

Speaking during his latest pre-match press conference on Friday, it therefore came as little surprise when Ansu’s name was quickly put to boss Hansi Flick.

And Barcelona’s headmaster made use of the question to heap fresh praise on his out-of-favour winger:

“I can’t say if he’ll be in the starting XI or get some minutes (against Leganés). What I can say is that he has improved and is training at a much higher level now.”
