Inter Milan have come in for criticism for their “defensive amnesia” since returning from the international break.

Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, highlight how the Nerazzurri have conceded twelve goals in just their last eight matches.

Inter Milan have not scored in either of their last two matches against Bologna and AC Milan.

And this has certainly been a problem for the Nerazzurri.

However, bluntness in attack hasn’t necessarily been Inter’s biggest issue in recent matches.

Inter Milan have played eight matches since their return from the international.

And in none of these have the Nerazzurri managed to keep a clean sheet.

The last time that Inter prevented the opposition from scoring came just before the break. They kept an important clean sheet in a 2-0 win away to Atalanta.

But since then, there have simply been too many switch-offs.

It is perhaps forgivable for Inter to have conceded a few times against Bayern Munich.

However, second-half switch-offs against the likes of Udinese, Parma, Cagliari, and Bologna have added up to prove costly.

And then against AC Milan in the Coppa Italia this past week, Inter completely crumbled in the second half.
