It is our time (maybe!)

Three days away from the Carabao Cup Final, three days away from a curse being lifted on Newcastle United fans
Three days before a long 56 trophyless years come to an end.
I hope the cabinet has had a good dusting and it is in showroom condition, ready to display the cup proudly for everyone in black and white to see.
Of course, we have the small matter of beating Liverpool first!
Can we beat them?
Yes, it is 11 against 11 at the end of the day and I believe that even with a few missing players, we can beat anyone on our given day.
Pundits can talk up any team as much as they like, they can analyse everything until the cows come home, they can look at history and come to the conclusion Liverpool will win no problem.
However, on the day when the whistle blows and the game kicks off, everything stacked against Newcastle United (history, 56 years, five successive losing finals) will go out the window.
It is all on the day.
If Newcastle United want it enough, work harder than them and play very well, there’s no doubt in my mind we can beat Liverpool.
I’m also a big believer in fate and the law of averages.
It has been nine and a half years since we beat Liverpool, we are overdue.
It has been five finals on the bounce that Newcastle United have lost since last winning something, so we are due.
It has been 56 years, again we are long overdue!
Nothing lasts forever, no hoodoo is set for life. Our time is coming.
There are three numbers in my life that are especially important to me.
The number 4 is my lucky number.
The number 21 means a lot to me.
They are birthday numbers for my late father Paul, my son Tristan, 21 and 4 makes 25 (2025).
The third number is 18. It is my birthday number.
I bring the 18 up as a relevance, as it is 18 matches since Newcastle United defeated Liverpool, plus its now 18 years since my father passed.
Perhaps they’re all signs the stars are aligning in my reality, it could be a spooky coincidence, or it could be a load of mumbo jumbo, but I’m a believer in things happening and things in life aligning right.
