Kylian Mbappé’s (26) wage dispute with former club Paris Saint-Germain is ongoing, however, speaking to Le Parisien, the Real Madrid forward revealed that he would shake the hand of PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

It hasn’t been a clean divorce since Mbappé left PSG in the summer, after seven years at the club. Mbappé is demanding €55m in unpaid wages and bonuses, which the LFP’s legal committee ordered the reigning Ligue 1 champions to pay. The refusal to pay the wages over the course of three months came amid a dispute and a messy divorce between the two parties. Les Parisiens believed that they had an oral, gentleman’s agreement with the France captain that they wouldn’t lose out financially, in the event that he left on a free transfer, which he did.

However, having been ordered to pay Mbappé the unpaid wages and bonuses, PSG refused. The FFF made the same decision, in favour of the France captain. However, PSG once again appealed, asking for the case to be re-studied. Once again, this request was rejected by the authorities.

Mbappé ‘not worried’ about legal dispute with PSG

PSG have since gone to the Paris legal tribune and so the LFP’s and FFF’s ruling has not yet been implemented. Mbappé’s entourage have since gone to a higher appeals body within the FFF to force the implementation of the ruling.

The relationship between Al-Khelaifi and Mbappé had reportedly turned sour even before the latter’s departure from PSG, however, the France captain has now said that he would shake the hand of Les Parisiens’ president.

“I played at Paris for seven years. I had extraordinary moments there. I am not the kind of person to only look at the negative and I know how to be grateful for what was given to me in life, on a personal level, as well as on a professional level. Of course, (if PSG and Real Madrid faced each other) I would shake his hand. And don’t imagine that I would spit on mine before shaking his (laughs),” Mbappé told Le Parisien.

He then evoked the ongoing legal dispute. “It’s being dealt with by lawyers. I think it will be resolved soon. It isn’t something that I am worried about,” said Mbappé.
