La Liga giants Real Madrid will not be able to count on a headline member of the club’s attacking ranks from the off in their meeting with Barcelona later tonight.
That’s according to Radio MARCA, who point towards Kylian Mbappé as the player in question.
Real Madrid are of course in the thick of final preparations for an altogether high-profile return to action on Saturday evening.
With potentially their final shot at silverware for the season on the line, Los Blancos have made the trip to Seville, for a Copa del Rey final showdown with arch rivals Barcelona.
Their own pursuit of titles aside, the matchup also marks a hugely important one for Real in affording them a shot at bringing an end to Barca’s historic treble chase.
As alluded to above, though, in efforts towards as much, Carlo Ancelotti will be forced to make do without a leading figure in Los Blancos’ frontline, at least from the off.
Kylian Mbappé has spent the last week or so on the treatment table, dealing with an ankle injury suffered against Arsenal in the Champions League.
And according to Radio MARCA, the Frenchman is yet to recover full fitness, therefore set to be benched at La Cartuja for El Clásico.
