Leeds United climbed back to the summit of the Championship with a victory over Oxford United, keeping pace with earlier wins on Friday by Burnley and Sheffield United.
A first-half strike from Manor Solomon proved decisive, restoring Leeds to first place on goal difference ahead of Burnley, with just three fixtures remaining. Sheffield United remain five points adrift in third.
The Whites will host Stoke City at Elland Road on Easter Monday, and a win - combined with Sheffield United failing to take all three points away at Burnley - would be enough to clinch promotion to the Premier League.
That said, Leeds need only five more points from their final three outings to guarantee a top-two finish, regardless of how other teams perform.
As for Oxford, the defeat saw them slip to 19th in the standings. They're still five points above the relegation zone but have more work ahead to ensure their Championship survival for another season.
