Reds suffered a couple of key new fitness scares during a testing international break

Liverpool are contending with a number of injury concerns as they prepare for the busy Premier League title run-in to begin.

The Reds have not played now for almost two-and-a-half weeks since their painful Carabao Cup final defeat by Newcastle at Wembley that followed hot on the heels of their penalty shootout loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 of the Champions League.

They have had extra time off after not being involved in FA Cup quarter-final weekend, with a huge game to return to action as they host rivals Everton in the latest edition of the Merseyside derby at Anfield on Wednesday evening.

Arne Slot’s champions-elect are 12 points clear of nearest challengers Arsenal with only nine games left to play this term, with matches against Fulham, West Ham, Leicester and Tottenham also coming up in April.

It’s surely now a case of when and not if Liverpool seal only their second title of the Premier League era and first since 2020, though Slot will still want to make sure he has mostly a fully-fit squad to choose from after a couple of notable scares during the international break.

With Everton’s short trip across Stanley Park coming up, here is all the latest Liverpool injury news and return dates featuring updates on the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker, Ryan Gravenberch and Conor Bradley.

Alexander-Arnold has been headline news of late despite currently being sidelined, with a high-profile free transfer to Real Madrid reportedly close to being finalised for the summer.

The England right-back missed the Carabao Cup final and the start of Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions reign after going off with an ankle injury in the second half of the second leg against PSG, with Slot not sure exactly when he will return but expecting him back before the end of the season.

It will be interesting to see what reception Alexander-Arnold receives when he does play again, with many Liverpool fans frustrated by his decision to leave.

Alisson Becker

Alisson started for Brazil in their 2026 World Cup qualifier against Colombia last week, but was forced off late on with a suspected concussion after colliding heavily with former Tottenham defender Davinson Sanchez inside the six-yard box.

He underwent tests and withdrew from the Selecao squad ahead of their humiliating 4-1 loss to arch-rivals Argentina in Buenos Aires.

You have to imagine that Alisson would have missed out this weekend if Liverpool had been in FA Cup action, but the extra few days off will likely come in handy before the Merseyside derby.

Ryan Gravenberch

The impressive Gravenberch has been an ever-present in Liverpool’s midfield this season, but went off in the second half of the Carabao Cup final.

He joined up with the Netherlands squad as planned ahead of the first leg of their heavyweight Nations League quarter-final tie against Spain, only to then withdraw with what the Oranje described as an issue sustained at Wembley.

It was later reported that such a move was precautionary and that Gravenberch is expected to be fit for Liverpool’s run-in.

Conor Bradley

Alexander-Arnold’s impending exit only increases the importance of understudy Bradley, who has not played for Liverpool since suffering a hamstring injury during the midweek draw at Aston Villa last month.

He did not play any part for Northern Ireland over the break and Slot said earlier in March that a frustrated Bradley was fully focused and doing everything possible to be back on the pitch before the end of the campaign.

Potential return date: May

Joe Gomez

It has been a hugely frustrating season for Gomez, who missed the whole of January with a hamstring injury and then suffered a setback just 10 minutes into his return in the shock FA Cup loss at Plymouth.

He underwent surgery and Slot said he would be out for a “long time”, maybe just making it back before the end of the season.

Potential return date: May

Young Reds midfielder Morton underwent shoulder surgery in February and looks set to miss the remainder of the season.

Potential return date: Summer 2025
