Join us as we make predictions for a match between Liverpool and Leicester City with a lot riding on it. Mathematically, the Reds can be named Premier League champions on Sunday. But the Merseyside club will more likely be crowned on another day, judging by the permutations for this weekend. Arne Slot's men must be victorious at Anfield on Sunday afternoon first, naturally. But prior to that they'll be hoping Ipswich Town defeat second place Arsenal so that LFC's 20th top-flight title to be clinched the following day. That number triumph become a joint EPL record shared with Manchester United.
In addition to that feat being on the horizon, the east Midlands side's fate is probably going to be sealed. Should West Ham United beat Southampton, which feels predictable at this stage, the pressure is on City. Obviously the Foxes are already under pressure to win as they're hanging by a thread. But that probable outcome at London Stadium means LCFC would have to beat Liverpool to evade relegation for another week.
At this point in a dreadful season, the King Power fan base is basically looking ahead to next year in the Championship. Hopefully Leicester can turn it around once more whilst in the same predicament they were in 2023/24 under Enzo Maresca. Who will be the new LCFC manager if Ruud van Nistelrooy leaves will be the main talking point once 2024/25 is finished.
But before then, we still have matches to cover and a starting XI to forecast. So let's move on from our preview and onto our predictions and an expected lineup for Liverpool vs Leicester.
Wout Faes, Jeremy Monga and Victor Kristiansen appear to be fit. Although they may not have affected the lineup anyway. Sadly, City could return to losing ways in this one.
