Luka Modrić’s Real Madrid future plans confirmed | OneFootball

An insight into the plans of Real Madrid star Luka Modrić for next season has on Tuesday been provided.

And the news will no doubt be met with excitement on the part of those of a Real Madrid persuasion.

This comes amid confirmation that the Croatian international has set his sights firmly on a fresh one-year renewal with Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

Modrić’s current terms are due to expire this coming summer, at which point he will be almost 40 years of age.

The former Tottenham Hotspur man, though, is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon, continuing to play a leading role in Spain’s capital.

In turn, it should come as little surprise to hear that Modrić, should he have his way, will be going nowhere upon the season’s close.

As per a report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano:

‘Luka Modrić wants to stay at Real Madrid and continue for one more season. His desire is to stay at the club and be part of the squad by signing a new deal until June 2026.’

It now remains to be seen if such plans are shared by those in the boardroom at the Santiago Bernabéu.
