Bernardo Silva, one of Manchester City’s standout players, appears to be eyeing a switch to Barcelona this summer.

As per reports from SPORT, the Portuguese midfielder is expected to leave the English champions due to a significant overhaul planned at the club in the coming months.

While several clubs are interested in securing his signature, including high-paying teams in Saudi Arabia, Silva’s top choice remains Barcelona.

Although the possibility of moving to the Middle East could be financially tempting, Silva’s priority lies in joining a competitive European team.

It is said that those within the Catalan club are fully aware of his interest and, despite the challenge of fitting him into the current squad, there is growing openness to bring in a top-tier attacking midfielder.

Barcelona consider Silva as strong reinforcement

Barcelona’s sporting department has already discussed Silva on several occasions with his agent, Jorge Mendes.

During multiple meetings held in recent months, Mendes has put forward Silva’s name as a viable option, especially if the financial details are favourable for Barcelona.

Given that the player’s current contract with Manchester City runs until 2026, any deal would require careful negotiation, but City are reportedly open to facilitating a departure.

Manchester City are ready to negotiate an exit clause upto €50 million, which is something that could be a problem for Barcelona.

Additionally, Silva is said to be flexible on his salary if it means he can wear the Barcelona shirt.

If Barcelona decide against making an approach, Silva may consider accepting one of the lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia. However, for now, his clear ambition is to play in Spain.
