Ruben Amorim to name strong team ahead of Europa League semi-final with Athletic Bilbao

Ruben Amorim has vowed to play his strongest team when Manchester United play Bournemouth.

United face Athletic Bilbao in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final on Thursday but Amorim will bring back his big players after rotating against Wolves in midweek.

Diogo Dalot has been ruled out with a calf injury but Matthijs de Ligt and Amad Diallo are both closing in on comebacks, with Amorim saying on Friday that the pair were “near”.

With Dalot out, Noussair Mazrouai and Patrick Dorgu are in line to start as the wing-backs.

Bruno Fernandes, Leny Yoro, Harry Maguire and Casemiro are all set to return after being rested against Wolves.

“We are going to face this game with the best team, because we had a full week to prepare, some of the players did not play against Wolverhampton, so sometimes, if you recover so much of the players, it is a bad thing,” said Amorim. “So I will try to manage everything to win this game and to prepare for the next one."

Dalot faces a spell on the sidelines. Amorim said: “Diogo is out. We don't know long he is going to be out. But he is out for these games, we will see until the end.”

Joshua Zirkzee and Lisandro Martinez are out for the rest of the season and Ayden Heaven remains sidelined.
