Omar Marmoush’s superb strike against Brighton has been nominated for the Premier League's Goal of the Month award for March.

The Egyptian striker dispatched a superb shot and finish in what was a hugely entertaining Etihad clash against the Seagulls which finished all square at 2-2.

Picking up the ball from Ilkay Gundogan, Marmoush first cut in from the left before powering a low shot in off the post from 22 yards out giving Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen no chance.

Marmoush, who has made a fine start to life at City since signing for us in January, is one of eight players shortlisted for the Guinness Goal of the Month award for March.

Pervis Estupinan of Brighton is also shortlisted for his free-kick against City in that same Etihad encounter.

Marcus Tavernier of Bournemouth is also amongst the contenders for his goal away at Tottenham with Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella nominated too for his effort at home to Leicester.

Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes (away to Leicester), Declan Rice of Arsenal (away at Manchester United), Anthony Elanga of Nottingham Forest (first goal away at Ipswich) and Ipswich’s Jens Cajuste (v Nottingham Forest) make up the other nominees.
