The early elimination from the Champions League and a losing streak in Serie A seemingly doomed Sergio Conceiçao, but he’ll put up a fight and believes he could still be in the Milan dugout next season, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs (via OneFootball).

The Rossoneri have won the past two domestic matches and got closer to the top four thanks to Juventus and Lazio’s woes. Beating Napoli in the next round and winning the Coppa Italia could perhaps change the scenario.

Conceiçao commented on his turn at Milan during the Coimbra Football Congress 2025 (via Diretta).

“I wanted to go to one of the best leagues in the world. Winning the Champions League is my dream and my goal. That’s why I chose my current club. I was aware of the difficulties I would encounter, as I didn’t contribute to building the squad, and we’re in a must-win situation. However, it’s a historic side that gave me the chance to get closer to one of my objectives.”

The gaffer and the Rossoneri went through a rough February.

“We played 9 games in 30 days and didn’t have time to train. It was extremely difficult since I couldn’t give the team the identity I wanted. There were also individual blunders, which happen. Since then, a new coach has been linked to replace me every day. It’s tough.”

Our Take on Milan and Conceiçao

They took home the full spoils in the past two fixtures but weren’t entirely convincing. Considering what the higher-ups are cooking up, only a superb finish, multiple other outfits self-combusting, and a few bosses turning down the job would help his case, but it’d be a surprise.
