Milan have basically onboarded Fabio Paratici and can turn their focus to their next coach. Sergio Conceiçao is a dead man walking considering the team’s performances in Serie A, even though he could potentially lead them to their second seasonal trophy.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri wish to hire an Italian manager next after two Portuguese ones. They are eyeing three names in particular: Antonio Conte, Roberto De Zerbi, and Massimiliano Allegri.

Milan would need to convince the first two to leave their relatively new teams after just one year, while the former Juventus boss is out of contract. They had the opportunity to hire the first one last summer but elected not to, perhaps because of his technical and contractual demands and his big personality.

Both Conte and Allegri have previous ties with Paratici. The former worked with him both at Juventus and Tottenham. The exec recently met with an intermediary who’s very close to De Zerbi.

While the choice will be pivotal, the front office believes that the squad will only need minor tweaks to suit the new manager, no matter who he is. According to Sky, the Rossoneri are also verifying whether it’s possible to poach Vincenzo Italiano from Bologna.

The rumblings about Conte leaving Napoli are already there. They’d have to persuade him that they have better chances at continued success than his current team. It is a tall but not impossible task. Perhaps Allegri won’t have alternatives, but it’d be surprising if he agreed to reunite with Paratici, who pushed him out in Turin. Italiano is ready to further level up, but Bologna are a tough cookie.
