Following this weekend’s win against Venezia, Sergio Conceicao has given the AC Milan squad some time off, a reward for their recent upturn in form.
The win against Inter in midweek came with fears of Milan doing what they have done so often this season. Falling to a, with respect, lesser team after beating a giant and playing well, which has been seen so many times this year.
Thankfully, this was not the case this weekend, as Milan won against Venezia by a solid two-goal margin. Additionally, the performance was what it needed to be, meaning fans were left happy.
As a result, Milan News writes that the squad have been given a break from training and will return to Milanello on Wednesday to prepare for the game against Genoa on Monday – had it been an away fixture, that would probably have only been a one-day rest period.
Luka Jovic’s condition will be monitored in the meantime, with him already starting to work on his recovery. Whilst Emerson Royal will be assessed at Milanello shortly, to see whether he can rejoin the group in training.
It is a deserved rest, and the calendar allows it, which is only another benefit.
