After arriving at Paris Saint-Germain following the club’s takeover by Qatari Sports Investments in 2011, Nasser Al-Khelaifi is set to become the longest-serving president of the club from the French capital on Wednesday. The Qatari arrived in Paris the 4th November 2011, and has since overseen 10 Ligue 1 titles, seven Coupe de France, six Coupe de la Ligue, and 11 Trophée des Champions. The closest president to him was Michel Denisot who presided over eight titles between 1991 and 1998.  Al-Khelaifi overtakes Francis Borelli (1978-1991) as the longest-serving PSG president at 13 years, four months and 23 days on Wednesday. This comes in the week that the current PSG president will be the subject of an investigative documentary on France 2 called ‘Power, scandal and big money: PSG’s foul play’ which is set to look at the different facets of Qatari influence in French football, in the name of Emir Tamim Ben Hamad Al-Thani.In February, Al-Khelaifi was charged with complicity in an ‘abuse of power’ according to a report from Agence France Presse. This was part of a wider investigation to French businessman Arnaud Lagardère and a reported attempt to influence a crucial vote by the Qatari sovereign fund that was a shareholder in his group.GFFN | George Boxall
