Leicester City's relegation was confirmed as they predictably lost to now Premier League champions Liverpool. The East Midlands side were actually downed in front of their home fans. Everyone in the Blue Army fan base expected it. The Foxes are said to be already planning for next season in that sense. And it is best for us supporters to do so as well rather than wallowing in our disastrous year.

Negative, along with some lesser known positive effects, obviously transpire with demotion. Adversely, the squad is at risk of losing many of its prominent stars. Attracting eminent footballers was never in City's make-up. Although it is currently difficult to lure the standard of player or spend the higher transfer fees we became used to in the short post-title-win and European tour era.

Yet this transitional period supplies chances for outstanding Under-21 prospects to shine. Jeremy Monga and Jake Evans are notables here; both teenagers made their respective senior debuts this campaign. Further youngsters are forecasted to be involved in EPL matches as the term expires. But this article is about the probable exit of a fixture in the starting lineup over the years: Wilfred Ndidi.

Wilfred Ndidi's low Leicester City release clause and implications for King Power club going forward

Ndidi won't want to play in the Championship again, in my opinion. The fact that a stipulation exists in his deal supports my claim. I think we may finally witness his departure this summer. That scene is now more likely than ever.

The Nigeria international reportedly has a £9 million release clause, activated by LCFC's relegation. How did BBC Sport discover this information? I imagine Ndidi's agent is working overtime and speaking to a host of people.

I don't consider the midfielder as influential or as consistent as he once was. Therfore he is replaceable in my view. It is, though, sad to see club servants leave.
