FC Barcelona are set to kick off their game against RCD Mallorca soon. With both teams set to clash at the Montjuic Stadium, this promises to be an interesting La Liga clash. For Barcelona, however, it is crucial for their title hopes moving forward.

Currently leading at the top of the table with four points, this would be Barça’s opportunity to temporarily extend that lead to seven points over Real Madrid. However, Mallorca will look to make things difficult for them and that is exactly the kind of challenge that Barcelona will need to overcome.

Hansi Flick seems to be aware of this, and that is why he has decided to field a dependable starting eleven for this league encounter.

Here is the official Barcelona starting line-up to take on Mallorca.

In goal, Wojciech Szczesny retains his place as the starting goalkeeper for the team. He has been great so far this year, and this game is yet another opportunity for him to continue his good record.

Ahead of him, Eric Garcia and Inigo Martinez form the two-man centre-back partnership. They will need to keep Mallorca at bay while making sure that they can play the ball out from the back as well.

On the flanks, Hector Fort and Ronald Araujo start as the team’s two full-backs. Both of them will need to make sure they stay alert defensively, but they will also need to contribute to the team offensively as well.

Over in the midfield, Pedri and Gavi start as the team’s two players in the double-pivot role. They will need to keep the team’s overall structure intact while distributing possession effectively and creating chances themselves.

In the attack, Lamine Yamal and Ansu Fati start as the team’s two wingers for this game. As per a recent report, Hansi Flick had been considering this decision to start Fati even before the game. Between them, Dani Olmo starts as the team’s central attacking midfielder right behind the centre-forward up top.

Ferran Torres starts as the team’s primary centre-forward, and he replaces the injured Robert Lewandowski. The Spaniard has proven that he is an efficient goalscorer this season, and this game is a big test for him to prove it.
