Southampton are ready to demand over £100 million for in-demand forward Tyler Dibling in the summer transfer window, as per a new report.
Dibling has attracted widespread interest from across the Premier League after a breakthrough season with relegation-threatened Southampton.
With the Saints likely to be relegated to the EFL Championship, there will be no shortage of offers for Dibling, whose current deal at St. Mary’s runs till 2027.
Manchester City are expected to undergo major change in the first-team squad in the summer after a disappointing season, perhaps Pep Guardiola’s worst campaign in charge of the reigning Premier League champions.
Several first-team stars could leave, including Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish, Ederson and Bernardo Silva, with incoming sporting director Hugo Viana set to back Guardiola in the transfer market and rebuild a hungry, young City side.
City signed the quartet of Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis, Omar Marmoush and Nico Gonzalez for £181.5 million – and more signings are in the offing as the season comes to a close and the club revamp their options to go again next term.
Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso and Atalanta’s Ederson Silva have been reported to be on City’s transfer wishlist, with the Blues also awaiting the returns of Ballon d’Or winner Rodri and academy graduate Oscar Bobb from long-term injuries.
According to Matt Law and John Percy writing for The Daily Telegraph, Southampton are prepared to demand a fee in excess of £100 million for Tyler Dibling.
Tottenham are amongst several clubs in England vying for the 19-year-old Englishman, who spent a year at Chelsea’s highly coveted academy before returning to his boyhood club and breaking into the first-team this term.
Manchester City are unlikely to break the bank and table a fee anywhere near £100 million – what they spent to sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa in 2021 – on the England U-21 international, with Viana and Guardiola expected to operate pragmatically to address the most pressing areas of the squad that need investment.
