Through all of the turmoil at Leicester this past season, the potential of bringing in someone new can often be enough to re-galvanize a fan base. Ruud van Nistelrooy is still in charge. It's possible, however, that news will be released from City in the coming days with an official announcement saying otherwise. Right now, most expect him to be let go after the final Premier League match at the very latest.

There are a lot of rumblings, but many suggest that Sean Dyche would be next in line for the job. In a vacuum it appears to line up. The former Everton manager knows what he wants from his players and gets the most out of his roster. Despite the point reduction and nearing relegation themselves, he saved the Toffees and allowed them to remain in the EPL.

Most notably, and perhaps the strongest indication of his being most worthy and ready for the job, was his stint with Burnley. While the Clarets are now on the cusp of returning to England's top flight, his 2021-2022 firing during the season came with a lot of raised eyebrows.

The fact of the matter is that it is difficult for smaller clubs to remain in the Prem. This is especially true of sides that make it a habit of going up and down between the leagues. Still, Dyche was able to earn promotion to the EPL.

He, furthermore, was able to stay up for a number of years, even qualifying for Europe while in charge of Burnley. This ability to avoid relegation and then be able to field a top Championship side has many excited at the potential of adding him.

As is the case with Dyche, who is currently employed as a radio host for talkSPORT, a number of organizations will be interested in the former manager. He would bring the needed intensity and fight that has been sorely missing at Leicester throughout this season's campaign.

Why he would work at Leicester

The straightforward and no-nonsense approach is the exact element that the Foxes will need. Not only is the aim to earn promotion again, but also to position the club in a way to help it stay up. As mentioned, this is a difficult challenge as is. Compared to some of the others who will be joining the Prem from the Championship and potential future league newcomers, though, City should, in theory at least, be better positioned than most to avoid an immediate drop down again.

In order for that to be the case, the next managing decision will need to be the right one. The overall business side as a whole needs an extreme reexamination as well. Assuming RvN is out the door, bringing in Dyche could be the best option to help navigate this difficult period. He probably won't be a radio host for too much longer, however. Leicester need to act fast.
