Raphinha and Barcelona are reported to be a long way away from an agreement over a contract extension, with the two parties disagreeing on nearly every aspect of a new deal.
On the pitch, things could hardly be going much better for Raphinha or Barcelona. Having returned to prominence under new manager Hansi Flick, the Brazilian has forced his way into the Ballon d'Or conversation with a return of 30 goals and 23 assists in 49 games across all competitions.
That form has piqued the interest of a number of clubs. In the Premier League, the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United have been speculatively named as suitors, while there is believed to be significant interest from Saudi Arabia.
Raphinha, for his part, wants to stay at Barcelona and those in charge in Catalonia want a new contract to be agreed soon, but SPORT note there is significant distance between the two parties at this point.
Not only has Raphinha been unimpressed with the salary proposed by Barcelona, but the 28-year-old also doesn't agree with the length of contract suggested in the early round of negotiations.

Barcelona are thought to have only proposed a guaranteed one-year extension, taking his deal to 2028, plus the option for a further 12 months. Raphinha is said to be after at least two guaranteed years - something club officials are reluctant to offer amid concerns over dishing out significant wage packets to ageing players. He will be approaching his 31st birthday by the time his current contract expires.
On the subject of finances, Raphinha also believes he deserves more than Barcelona are currently offering. There are no numbers mentioned but the Brazilian wants to see his importance to the side reflected in his salary.
The only point of agreement between Barcelona and Raphinha is his release clause. Both sides are settled on a sum of around €80m (£68.3m) - seen as a reasonable figure for a player of his age further down the line.
Currently, both sides are relaxed about the situation, knowing Raphinha still has two years on his current deal and is keen to extend his stay at the club. Negotiations will continue and Barcelona are hoping for a quick resolution before this issue grows into something significant.
