Real Madrid are set to be without Eduardo Camavinga and David Alaba for the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona.
Alaba started Real Madrid’s 1-0 win over Getafe on Wednesday night, but was forced off at half-time and was replaced by Camavinga.
The Frenchman picked up an issue of his own, though, after a heavy challenge, and had to limp off having initially attempted to play on.
Real Madrid trail Barcelona by four points in the La Liga title race and the Copa del Rey is therefore their best hope of ending the season on a high, but Carlo Ancelotti is likely to be without two key players.
“We'll have to assess them tomorrow but both Camavinga and Alaba have muscle issues in their leg, so it's hard to see them making it back for Saturday,” Ancelotti said after the win over Getafe.
“The only option [at left-back] for Saturday is Fran Garcia.”
Barcelona thrashed Real Madrid 4-0 at the Bernabeu earlier this season and won the Spanish Super Cup final in January by beating their big rivals 5-2, despite playing nearly 40 minutes with ten men.
With Barcelona also still going strong in the Champions League, it is shaping up to be a superb season for Hansi Flick’s side, and Ancelotti admitted Real Madrid will go into the match as underdogs.
"It's a final and perhaps they are favorites,” Ancelotti said. “But a final is a final and anything can happen.
“In the final, we could play a 4-4-2 with six midfielders and no striker. We have to defend well and I'm sure we'll do that and create chances up the other end too."
