Having suffered a serious knee injury earlier this season, Real Madrid veteran Dani Carvajal has been making steady progress in his recovery.
Carvajal suffered the most devastating injury of his career in October during the final minutes of Real Madrid’s clash with Villarreal at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The right-back had suffered a torn ACL along with a torn lateral collateral ligament as well as sustaining some tendon damage.
For most players at 33 years old, such an injury would be a career-ending blow. But Carvajal has been working very hard on his recovery and has remained in high spirits throughout his rehabilitation.
And, according to AS, the veteran right-back, who laced up his boots last week for the first time in over five months, is eager to get back on the pitch.
Indeed, Carvajal is determined to play a part in Real Madrid’s FIFA Club World Cup campaign in the United States this June and July.

Carvajal spends more hours at Valdebebas than anyone else. His recovery involves intense gym sessions, hydrotherapy in the heated pool, temperature contrast treatments, weightlifting, and endurance tests to monitor his knee’s progress.
On top of that, the Spaniard is also acting as a coach-like figure for the team. His leadership has been invaluable to Carlo Ancelotti, who considers the veteran the team’s heartbeat in a dressing room that has gradually lost its legendary figures in recent years.
Now, it is claimed that Carvajal is eager to return to action at the Club World Cup. His plan is to gradually increase his minutes – 15 minutes in one match, 30 in the next, and so on – to prove to Ancelotti that he is ready for the start of the 2025/26 season.
With just over three months until the Club World Cup, Carvajal is confident that by then, his injury will be nothing more than a distant memory.
