A sidelined member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has on Monday revealed his hopes of playing his part in this summer’s Club World Cup.
The player in question? Dani Carvajal.
Full-back Carvajal has for his part of course been out of action for the last six months.
This comes after the Spanish international was stretchered out of a 2-0 La Liga victory over Villarreal, with what was later confirmed to be a torn ACL.
Now 33, some had questioned whether the severity of Carvajal’s injury could prove to be career-threatening.
Safe to say, however, that the stopper has no intention of hanging up his boots any time soon…
Speaking during an appearance in front of the media on Monday, the defender, in fact, revealed his hopes of marking his return to the pitch at the upcoming Club World Cup.
Pulled in for a quick exchange by Marca whilst at the 2025 Laureus Awards Gala, Carvajal confirmed:
“We’re going to try to be at the Club World Cup.”
