Yesterday’s Champions League clash between Inter Milan and Bayern Munich saw the San Siro bring in gate receipts over €10 million.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They note that it was the third highest in the stadium’s history, behind only Milan Derby Champions League semifinals.

Inter Milan hosted Bayern Munich in a Champions League quarterfinal second leg yesterday.

It was an absolute thriller of a match, with four second half goals seeing it go down to the wire.

Inter managed to hold onto their first leg advantage. They moved on to the semifinals against Barcelona.

And the Nerazzurri did so in front of an absolutely packed house.

As the Gazzetta note, there was not an empty seat in the house for yesterday’s match.

There were 75,625 spectators in total. This included 4,300 Bayern fans who travelled from Germany and absolutely packed the away section.

The result was a gate receipt over €10,061,474 for the San Siro.

This is not quite at the level of what the stadium brought in for Champions League semifinal matches between Inter Milan and AC Milan in the 2002-03 and 2022-23 seasons.

But for comparison, it was well over the €9.2 million for the first leg of Inter’s round of sixteen tie against Atletico Madrid last season.
