Sergio Conceicao has decided to opt for consistency with regards to AC Milan’s starting XI against Atalanta, per the latest reports, with zero changes on the cards.
Milan managed to boost their confidence with the 4-0 trashing against Udinese last weekend, playing much better with the newly-implemented three-man backline. And so, taking on Atalanta tomorrow, it shouyld be the same Rossoneri side on the pitch.
According to Sky Italia, Conceicao will keep the 3-4-3 formation while also making zero changes to the starting eleven. It certainly makes sense as the first indications of the new system were very positive, but confirming them against a stronger side is also needed.
Luka Jovic should be given the chance once again up front, having impressed last time out despite not scoring or assisting. It likely also means that Tammy Abraham will start against Inter mid-week, but there’s also no denying that the Serbian has done very well in recent weeks.
In defence, Fikayo Tomori, Matteo Gabbia and Strahinja Pavlovic will partner up and another clean sheet is in their sights. Speaking of, Mike Maignan avoided any serious head injury after the heavy collision against Udinese and is expected to start between the sticks.
Predicted Milan XI (3-4-3): Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Jimenez, Fofana, Reijnders, Hernandez; Pulisic, Jovic, Leao.
