Despite Brendan Rodgers’ troops striding towards the Scottish Premiership title, and, possibly the treble, the term, ‘imperiously’ may now have to be retitled. Back-to-back defeats at the hands of theRangers, and, with a nine-goal plundering of our defence over three matches from the Ibrox side, something has to give. It now looks like the wheels are in motion for a reset in the summer.

Nicolas Kuhn was believed to have requested a train ticket out of Parkhead round around the same time Santa was delivering his gifts. Santa said ‘No, you’ll have to wait’. It now transpires that the faltering winger will be offered his gift, if a little late. There’s no doubting the quality the German possesses, but consistency is key, and this trait has been lacking in his make-up of late.
Due to his stunning performances (mostly) since arriving through Parkhead’s gates, our bank vault should swell considerably in the next window. We should then aspire to bring in better…

It’s no surprise that there have been envious eyes cast over Cameron Carter-Vickers during the last few years, and it looks like the rock in our defence will be sharing a suitcase with Kuhn. There will be no shortage of suiters for the USA international, despite his unfathomable aberration at the death last Sunday.
Cam showed up time and again when we needed him, and he has been a revelation for us. At 27, he centre-back still has some great years ahead of him. Not at Parkhead though it seems, therefore a pretty penny should be slotted into Peter’s piggybank.

Who will come in to replace him? I’m assured that Brendan has been in the ear of one, Kristoffer Ajer recently, and not just once. Kris will always be a legend in the eyes of the faithful after some stirring performances, and delivering the crucial penalty which sealed the Scottish Cup against Hearts in 2020 to seal the quadruple Treble.
The Norwegian giant has been plying his trade with Brentford who are still in contention for a European spot this term, and what a return coup this would be. Not as powerful as Cam, granted, but more mobile, and likes to get at the opposition defence when he can. I’d love him back.

With the likelihood of Greg Taylor and the ageing Jeffrey Schlupp making for the exit door, Keiran Tierney will make his much-vaunted return to provoke a wee bit of Deja-vu in the stands.
Rodgers is not a stupid man; he knows what he wants and is aware of the demands from the paying customer. Let’s see what transpires over the next couple of months; there is much to ponder.

With a Treble to be won we need everyone on board, and on the same side, for now. Keep the faith Bhoys and Ghirls – let the good times roll.
