Juventus manager Thiago Motta could be plotting a change in the playing system with Dusan Vlahovic as the primary beneficiary.
Ahead of last Sunday’s contest in Florence, some sources in the Italian media had envisioned a sacking in case of another defeat. The Bianconeri were pummelled by three unanswered goals at the hands of Fiorentina, with Nicolo Fagioli’s exploits adding insult to injury.
And yet, Juventus Football Director Cristiano Giuntoli came out to confirm the manager’s position at the club, at least until the end of the season.
Therefore, Motta still has to chance to pick up the pieces and rescue whatever’s left of the campaign. At this stage, securing fourth place in Serie A is the only thing that truly matters.
So according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the manager has been working tirelessly on finding solutions before the campaign restarts after the international break.

He is reportedly planning another team dinner and some direct talks with individuals to solidify the bonds, but more importantly, he’s entertaining the notion of a formation change.
The 42-year-old has thus far adopted a 4-2-3-1 system for the majority of his time at the club, but is now considering shifting towards a 3-5-2 formation which is now a feasible plan with Pierre Kalulu and Renato Veiga returning to action. The duo would thus join Federico Gatti in a three-man backline.
But the most important addition to the lineup would be Dusan Vlahovic who has been cast aside in recent months following the arrival of Randal Kolo Muani. The Serbian has been left on the bench for the duration of the match on several occasions, including last weekend against Fiorentina.
But with a switch to 3-5-2, Vlahovic would combine with the Frenchman up front to form an attacking partnership. The club’s supporters would be enticed to see how this combination would unfold.
