Carlo Ancelotti publicly criticised Real Madrid youngster Endrick following his side’s 1-0 win over Getafe.

The 18-year-old started the game as another Madrid youngster Arda Guler scored the only goal to give the Spanish giants victory.

But Endrick was sent a warning by his manager Ancelotti following the game for his decision making in front of goal, specifically not shooting with power.

“He can’t do these things; he is young and has to learn, but those things don’t exist in football,” Ancelotti remarked.

“He has to shoot as hard as he can. This is not a theatre club.”

The victory for Real Madrid means they are just four points behind league leaders Barcelona with both sides having five games left to play.

Despite the narrow margin of victory, Ancelotti was pleased and praised goalscorer Guler for his impact.

“I’m not upset because the objective was to get the three points,” he said. “The first half was better and the second half was more suffering.

“It’s true that we’ve looked for more solidity at the back and we lack more effectiveness up front. We have to be more effective.

“Güler’s future is going to be more as a midfielder than a forward. The quality he has in the construction of the game is phenomenal.”

Next up for Real Madrid is the Copa del Rey final against fierce rivals Barcelona on Saturday.

Some reports following Madrid’s Champions League exit to Arsenal claimed it could be Ancelotti’s final game in charge of the club.

Speaking ahead of the game against Getafe about his future, the Madrid boss said: “Nothing surprises me… As I’ve always said, I love this job, I loved my first spell [from 2013 to 2015], I love this second spell [since 2021], and I want this to go as far as possible.

“One day when it ends, I’ll be thankful and take my hat off to this club, that’s all.”
