Fabio Paratici is ‘the big favourite’ to become the new sporting director of AC Milan, according to a report, but potential criminal charges could force the Rossoneri to look elsewhere.
It’s no secret that Milan are looking to bring in a new sporting director, as well as a new head coach, for the 2025-26 season. Paratici, formerly of Juventus and Spurs, is the ‘big favourite’ according to TMW’s Marco Conterio, but the situation is still a bit complicated.
Giorgio Furlani, the CEO of the Rossoneri, wants to make a key decision during the Easter break (April 18-21). Paratici is currently serving a sporting ban for the Prisma/capital gains case which will expire in the summer, but there could also be criminal charges
The Prosecutor’s Office in Rome has requested a criminal trial for the involved persons, including Paratici, for stock market manipulation, false invoices and obstruction of supervision. On April 15th, if will be decided if the case will go to trial or if it will be dismissed.
As Conterio continues, April 15th is thus a key date for Furlani and he will then be able to make a proper decision the following weekend. In addition to Paratici, he also has the likes of Igli Tare (formerly of Lazio), Tony D’Amico (Atalanta) and Giovanni Manna (Napoli) on his list.
