Tottenham Set for Executive Overhaul as Munn Prepares to Depart

Tottenham Hotspur is once again at a crossroads. Off the pitch, the club is preparing for significant change within its executive structure. According to the Daily Mail, “Scott Munn is expected to leave Tottenham after two years as the club’s chief football officer.” While Ange Postecoglou seeks silverware on the pitch, chairman Daniel Levy is quietly reshaping the power structure above him.

Munn’s expected departure comes amid growing dissatisfaction with Tottenham’s injury management and internal processes. The Australian has operated largely behind the scenes since arriving from the City Football Group’s Chinese division in 2023. But his role has come under scrutiny, particularly in the wake of last season’s overhaul of the club’s medical team.

Injuries Continue to Haunt Spurs

Munn was tasked with modernising and streamlining Tottenham’s football operations, which included a review that led to the dismissal of long-serving head of medicine Geoff Scott. However, “this season’s injury record has not improved and is arguably worse,” notes the Daily Mail.

That statistic alone casts a long shadow. The club has endured consistent setbacks with key personnel, from James Maddison to Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, all of whom have missed important stretches. For a team seeking Champions League qualification and a return to relevance in Europe, such instability undermines progress.

New Leadership in Place

Levy’s response has been swift. Spurs have already confirmed the appointment of Vinai Venkatesham as the club’s new chief executive. The former Arsenal man will begin in the summer, and his arrival marks the latest chapter in Levy’s ongoing executive reshuffle.

Venkatesham brings experience from a club where he played a pivotal role during a transformative era. His appointment suggests Levy is intent on tightening structures and giving Postecoglou a more stable framework within which to work.

Postecoglou’s Focus Remains Football

While the boardroom shifts, Postecoglou continues to keep Spurs’ European ambitions alive. Thursday’s 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League quarter-final showed glimpses of what this Tottenham side could become when fit and firing. Dominic Solanke’s penalty was enough to send Spurs through to the last four—and just as importantly, showed that the squad is starting to regain its full compliment.

The next few weeks will define Spurs’ season. But whether or not a long-awaited trophy arrives, what’s clear is that the club’s leadership structure will look markedly different by the start of next season.

Our View – EPL Index Analysis

There’s a growing feeling among Spurs fans that the club is finally trying to get serious behind the scenes. The Munn experiment never really convinced. He arrived quietly, operated quietly, and now he’s leaving without leaving much of a mark—apart from presiding over one of our worst injury crises in years.

When you oust someone like Geoff Scott and the situation actually gets worse, questions need to be asked. You can’t keep blaming bad luck. Something in our setup clearly hasn’t been working, and if Munn was meant to be the fixer, he’s failed.

Bringing in Vinai Venkatesham feels like a smart move. He helped reshape the culture at Arsenal, and even if we don’t like to say it out loud, they’ve got a structure that works. Hopefully, he brings some of that efficiency across north London.

Credit to Ange too. While chaos reigns above, he’s got us playing better football than we’ve seen in years—and Thursday night proved it. Let’s hope he finally gets the backing he needs from a leadership team that understands modern football, not just balance sheets.
