Igor Tudor took the Juventus job despite not having many reassurances for the future. He’ll have to chance to earn his stay in the final Serie A matches and the Club World Cup. He de facto inked a four-month contract since the club will be able to terminate it in July through a clause, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
The future of the Croatian manager will inevitably hinge on the results. The Bianconeri are one point behind Bologna in the race for first place and have an easier schedule. They also need to fend off Roma, Lazio, and Fiorentina, who aren’t far behind.
Making the top four would drastically help Tudor stay in the Juventus dugout. The front office has a list of alternatives and dream targets, but they have put everything on hold now. It includes Antonio Conte, Roberto Mancini, Stefano Pioli, and Gian Piero Gasperini.
The higher-ups have been impressed with the new coach’s impact. He has a very different style compared to Thiago Motta. His practices have been intense, but he’s also trying to bond with the players, something his predecessor struggled with.
Considering his career progression and connection with the team, there couldn’t have been a better choice for the present. Things will take care of themselves on their own, as the results will determine whether he’s a keeper. He might have a leg up on the other options because the Club World Cup throws a big wrench into the timing of the coaching carousel. It could prevent the management from going after some candidates who may not want to wait. They’ll have to decide one way or the other beforehand.
