It has been less than a week since Thiago Motta was sacked as head coach of Juventus, but there are already growing reports that he will not be out of management for long, as reports linking him with a move to Atalanta and a return to France emerge.
Motta was dismissed from his position in charge of Juventus on Sunday. The club released their statement on Sunday, Motta and his staff collected their belongings from Continassa on Monday, and Igor Tudor, his replacement, began training on Monday evening.

Though the news of Motta’s sacking is still fresh, there have already been reports linking him with a new job in Serie A, as well as a handful of opportunities abroad.
Tuttosport claims that Motta is among the candidates to replace Gian Piero Gasperini at Atalanta, going as far as claiming that he is ‘in Atalanta’s plans’ on Thursday’s front page.
Gasperini is still under contract until the summer of 2026, but there is growing speculation that he will leave Bergamo this summer, possibly in order to take over from Claudio Ranieri in the Stadio Olimpico dugout with Roma.
Motta’s strong showing with Bologna and his track record of returning capital gains on bargain players – Joshua Zirkzee and Riccardo Calafiori the clearest examples – are among the main reasons why he is an attractive option for La Dea.
Tuttosport also claims that there is a chance Motta returns to France, where he spent the final six years of his playing career and the initial stages of his coaching journey (both with PSG).
