Christian Falk has explained one key reason Leroy Sane decided to snub a transfer to Arsenal in favour of staying at Bayern Munich this summer.
According to a report from Falk for CF Bayern Insider, Sane had interest from Arsenal but is set to sign a new contract with Bayern instead.
The experienced Germany international, who has 11 goals and five assists in all competitions so far this season, would have been a free agent this summer if he hadn’t agreed a new deal.
This would surely have made Sane a very tempting option for Arsenal and other clubs, but it seems that the former Manchester City man has opted to stay at the Allianz Arena.
According to Falk, one key reason for this is that Sane is keen to remain in the same team with his good friend Jamal Musiala.

Arsenal will surely strengthen in attack this summer, but some fans will perhaps be breathing a sigh of relief that Sane won’t be the man they’re signing.
The 29-year-old is a fine player, but AFC will have seen just how badly this season’s loan deal for Raheem Sterling ended up going for them.
In truth, Sane could probably have ended up similar as he’s probably now past the peak of his powers and wouldn’t be the kind of player to really take Mikel Arteta’s team forward.
Arsenal need to focus on younger players who can really compete with the likes of Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli for a place in the starting XI, as well as someone who can take the pressure off Bukayo Saka to be the main man for 90 minutes week in, week out.
As good as Sane can be, he no longer looks like that kind of player, so this shouldn’t be too big a loss for Arsenal.
