CaughtOffside yesterday reported that Chelsea have been “intensifying their efforts” to sign wonderkid Kenan Yildiz from Juventus.
Sources “with a close understanding of the situation” have told them that the Blues are now “pushing hardest” to sign the youngster, with his club reluctant to let him go, and accordingly demanding €100m for him.
Liverpool, Arsenal and both Manchester clubs are also listed as interested in the youngster, who has broken out this season and increasingly looks like one of the best young talents in his league.
Juventus are once again trying to reinvent their team, struggling to find a manager or a direction to take this squad in. There is certainly the opportunity to take advantage of the chaos here.

The first thing to note is that Chelsea will not be paying €100m or anything remotely close to that for Yildiz or anyone like him. The two players they did fork out that much for – Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo – were already very established for their age, with Caicedo having shown what he could do in the Premier League and Enzo having won the World Cup’s best young player award.
Yildiz is a bright talent but doesn’t offer nearly the same security in terms of his pedigree. We can see Chelsea trying to sign him, but it still seems a long shot. Their model is to sign up these talents before they go to a big club, not after.
Juventus would likely accept a much lower fee than the massive figure they’re putting out there, but we don’t see much potential crossover between what they’d accept and what we would offer right now.
One to keep an eye on, but not one to get excited about just yet.
