Stefano Pioli continues to be linked with a return to Italy and Serie A to take over at Juventus in the event that current incumbent Thiago Motta is dismissed. Here is why the Old Lady are considering a move for the former Rossoneri coach.
Pioli is one of several coaches currently being linked with a move to Turin in the event that Thiago Motta is sacked this season. Reports on Thursday claim that Roberto Mancini is also being considered, as are Primavera and Next Gen coaches Francesco Magnanelli and Max Brambilla if Juventus decide to go down the caretaker route.
Some of the other names linked with a potential job at the Allianz Stadium include Antonio Conte, Gian Piero Gasperini, Xavi and Igor Tudor.
However, La Gazzetta dello Sport wrote on Thursday that Pioli is ‘more than just an idea’ for Juventus.
The former Milan coach has been described as a ‘harmoniser’ in the dressing room, somebody who is capable of returning a ‘normal’ mood around the camp.

The fact that he has experience with multiple ‘big clubs’ in Serie A – both Inter and Milan among them, and a Scudetto winner with the latter – is also an advantage.
Another benefit is his proven track record of getting the best out of his big players, and at different stages of their careers depending on the individual. Pioli has been earning retrospective praise for his ability to get the best out of Rafael Leao and Theo Hernandez for Milan, and similarly with Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibarhimovic at the end of their careers.
With Al-Nassr, Pioli has further proved that he is capable of managing big stars – most notably five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
