Atalanta may look to intensify their pursuit of Feyenoord’s Igor Paixao in the coming months after scouting the forward throughout the season and making initial contact with the Eredivisie club.

The Brazilian’s strong performances this season have attracted interest from several European clubs, with Napoli and various Bundesliga teams also keeping tabs on the striker.

With Ademola Lookman increasingly likely to leave the Gewiss Stadium, La Dea have added the 24-year-old to their shortlist of potential replacements, valuing his similar pace and attacking dynamism.

Atalanta eye Paixao as Lookman’s potential replacement

Transfer expert Matteo Moretto reports that Atalanta have been closely monitoring Paixao and have already requested preliminary information from Feyenoord regarding a potential deal, though no formal negotiations have begun.

The Dutch club has set a €30m price tag on the player, who featured against both Milan and Inter in the Champions League, scoring the decisive goal in Feyenoord’s first-leg knockout playoff win over the Rossoneri.

While Napoli are also said to be tracking Paixao, Moretto notes that he is not currently among their top targets. However, Bundesliga clubs could pose strong competition for his signature this summer.
