The Football Association have confirmed the various details ahead of the draw for the FA Cup semi-final, with quarter-finals ties taking place over the course of the weekend.

In what remains Manchester City’s only chance of silverware this season, the performances of Pep Guardiola’s players have been significantly stronger than in other competitions so far this season.

Having defeated League Two’s Salford City in round three at the Etihad Stadium, before moving on to successfully dismissing of League One’s Leyton Orient in round four away from home, it was the Championship’s Plymouth Argyle who visited the Etihad in round five.

Manchester City certainly made hard work of the affair however, as two goals from corner-kicks from Nico O’Reilly rescued the club’s place in the quarter-final stage of the competition after Plymouth found themselves ahead in the first-half.

Bournemouth, on the other hand, have had a far more difficult run to this stage having defeated West Brom in round three, before successfully knocking out Premier League opposition in round four and five in Everton and Wolves.

The FA Cup is City’s only chance at silverware this campaign, having been knocked out of the Carabao Cup to Tottenham, exiting the UEFA Champions League prior to the last-16 courtesy of Real Madrid, and being largely ruled out of the Premier League title race in December.
