A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona won possession for his side more times than any other player in the quarter-final round of the Champions League.
That’s according to statisticians Squawka, who point towards Frenkie de Jong as the player in question.
Dutchman De Jong for his part featured from the off in both of Barcelona’s fixtures against Borussia Dortmund over the course of the last week.
And en route to an eventual 5-3 aggregate triumph for Hansi Flick’s side, the former Ajax man continued what has been a stellar recent run of individual form.
De Jong is currently excelling on both sides of the ball, playing a real leader’s role for the Blaugrana.
And as alluded to above, such endeavours on the part of the 27-year-old have on Thursday given rise to a head-turning statistic.
